COVID-19 in the Republic of North Macedonia:
Assessment of the socio-economic impact

As governments around the world are taking drastic measures to slow down the spread of the corona virus the effect of those actions will continue to have detrimental effect on the economy and the social standing of the most vulnerable segment of the population. North Macedonia is no exception. Tens of thousands of jobs have been affected so far, most of which are at the bottom of the wage spectrum and the impact on hospitality, tourism and retail trade is most concerning. This website was designed to provide overview of the socio-economic impact by collecting and monitoring relevant open high-frequency data on most affected sectors of the economy and segments of the society.
